Madison World Music Festival Art Contest

Want to have your work published--and earn free tickets to exciting world music concerts?

The sixth annual, 2009 Madison World Music Festival, to be held on September 17-19, needs talented artists to submit T-shirt designs! The winning work will be featured on the festival’s t-shirts, and the winning artist will receive a pair of season subscriptions to the Wisconsin Union Theater’s 2009-2010 World Stage Series.

The free Madison World Music Festival, which presents diverse quality musical acts from around the world, will take place in the Memorial Union and at the Willy Street Fair.

Submissions should be two-sided, fitting a standard t-shirt. The words “Madison World Music Festival 2009” should be clearly printed as part of the design for the shirt’s front. Please present a general concept for the back, which will include the names of the performers (to be announced at a later date). The rest is up to the artist’s imagination. Please send a 2-color and a 4-color version. The festival’s logo is at the top of this page. Colors will change to fit the winning design.

The deadline to submit entries is Friday, May 1, 2009.

Applause Heard Throughout Wisconsin for Diavolo

Audiences who were lucky enough to see Diavolo dance on Friday night were absolutely floored with their performance and want to know when they will be back! Unfortunately, we are unable to bring them back next year, but we will have a stunning dance season for you to look forward to!
